PORTSMOUTH

THE ISLAND CITY

VISION FOR CHANGE

TOWN CENTRE

Portsmouth has three poorly related and fragmented principal nodes, Old Portsmouth, Gunwharf Quay and Guildhall Square, that contribute little towards a cohesive central urban identity.

This master-plan shows how these distinctively separate city districts can be integrated with a vibrant civic heart and delivered with a rich mix of new uses through a unifying spatial design that is woven together with new development delivering cohesion and significantly enhancing public amenity.

This design research identifies indicative deliverables, development phasing, urban connectivity and plans for resilience capable of informing future strategy forward.
