He is an architectural, planning and design practitioner, writer, educator and researcher. His practice has won a number of architectural design awards. He holds the RIBA President's Medal for Research and the RIBA President's Award for Practice located Research.

Fiona is author of the publication on The Conan Canal and was a participant in The Portsmouth Phoenix. She qualified with a distinction in architecture from the University of Portsmouth and currently works in practice in Winchester.
Fiona has been a long term resident in Portsmouth with a particular interest in community engagement, bottom up development and co-design, seeing this approach to architectural design as pivotal to improving the opportunity and life chances of Portsmouth’s residents.
Deniz is a Chartered Conservation Architect, founder of Deniz Beck Partners, co-author of the publication on Fratton Road LTZ and a participant in the second stage of The Portsmouth Elephant Cage. She works on master planning and development of residential and conversion projects, specialising in heritage project, while supporting local organisations assisting on Heritage Lottery Fund bids. She is a part-time architecture tutor at the University of Portsmouth.
Deniz’s has received eight architectural awards, in recognition of the excellence of her work, she has been a contributor, to ICOMOS. Her works include: various works within Fort Cumberland, Portsmouth, a Grade II* listed scheduled ancient monument (SAM), a planning
application for a residential development and conversion of the Fraser Range (ongoing) and the highly acclaimed conversion of Hot Walls in Old Portsmouth.
