Portsmouth has three centres Old Portsmouth, Gunwharf Quay and Guildhall Square, which are poorly related and fragmented contributing little towards a cohesive central urban identity.

This master-plan illustrates how these distinct city districts can be integrated by a vibrant civic heart with a rich mix of new uses and through a unifying spatial design that delivers new development, urban cohesion with significantly enhanced public amenity.

This design research identifies indicative deliverables, development phasing, urban connectivity and proposals for resilience capable of informing forward future strategic planning.
