This report on the south coast and wider regional rail network identifies extensive new strategic improvements to current and former rail infrastructure, which might contribute to transforming connectivity, speeds and capacity, and have wide regional, social, environmental and economic benefits.

The reports draws upon new and existing research to identify a range of options and proposals for implementation focused on Portsmouth and the South East region.

A pressing need is identified for investment in rail infrastructure if the regional economy is to remain competitive and be more sustainable in future.
